This has been our first full year since we were elected.
I would like to thank the new Committee members who joined us in keeping The Memorial Hall going, without whom we could not have continued.
We started with nothing, no accounts or details of information regarding the upkeep and running of the hall. Some items still being withheld by the outgoing committee (Ledgers etc) plus the inconvenience of the bank accounts being frozen. It took us several months to intercept mail going to personal addresses but by the end of this year we had opened a new bank account, gathered and paid all the outstanding bills. We reimbursed our benefactor who lent us the money to pay the plumber for urgent repairs to the central heating system (nearly £5,000) and we had enough to pay the Employment Tribunal regarding D. Hayton’s employment.
Things are looking better for next year, we have two new regular hires Regiment Dance who will be using the hall twice a week and Ceroc Addiction on Wednesday evenings.
In January 2019 we will be incorporating a Membership Scheme in line with the Constitution.
